Orange SL Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer

Orange Sierra Leone on Monday 5 January 2026 officially welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer Madam Aicha Toure during a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters at Hill Station in Freetown. The event marked an important leadership transition as the telecommunications company continues to expand its digital services and strengthen its operations nationwide.

Madam Toure arrived at the headquarters accompanied by the outgoing Chief Executive Officer Sekou Amadou Bah. She was warmly received by members of senior management and staff who gathered to formally usher her into office. The ceremony reflected the company’s commitment to continuity stability and shared purpose during the transition.

 

Following the formal welcome the outgoing CEO together with the Human Resources Manager Agnes Songa led Madam Toure on an extensive familiarization tour of key Orange Sierra Leone facilities. The tour covered all major departments at the Hill Station Head Office providing the new CEO with a firsthand view of the company’s operations and workforce.

 

The visit also included the Orange Digital Centre which hosts the Orange Foundation Sierra Leone where various digital training and social impact initiatives are implemented. Madam Toure further toured the Orange Money Office where mobile financial services are managed as well as the Orange Data Centre located on Spur Road in Freetown which plays a critical role in supporting the company’s network and digital infrastructure.

 

During the tour Madam Toure interacted with staff across different units engaging in discussions and listening to their perspectives. Employees expressed excitement about her appointment and pledged their full support and cooperation as she takes on her new leadership role. Many described the engagement as encouraging and inspiring signaling a positive start to her tenure.

 

Madam Aicha Toure brings to Orange Sierra Leone more than twelve years of international experience across telecommunications technology and financial services. She joined the Orange Group in 2017 as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Orange Mali where she led transformative projects focused on network expansion digital innovation and improved energy access.

 

In 2019 she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money Mali. In that role she successfully positioned the company as the national leader in financial inclusion and oversaw its growth into the largest mobile money operation within the Orange Group. Her leadership was credited with expanding access to digital financial services and strengthening customer trust.

 

Madam Toure holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Centrale Supélec and later completed an Executive MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow. She is widely respected for her strategic vision strong leadership skills and commitment to advancing digital and financial inclusion across Africa.

 

Her appointment is expected to further reinforce Orange Sierra Leone’s focus on innovation customer experience and social impact. As she begins her tenure stakeholders remain optimistic that her experience and leadership will drive continued growth and contribute meaningfully to Sierra Leone’s digital transformation agenda.
