The National Secretariat of the All Peoples Congress APC has announced plans to hold a National Mammoth Meeting as part of efforts to prepare the party for the 2028 general elections, with a strong focus on unity, discipline and electoral readiness.

According to a statement from the party secretariat, the meeting will take place on Saturday 31 January 2026 at the Attouga Stadium in Cline Town, starting at 1 pm. The gathering is expected to bring together party leaders, executives and members from across the country.

The meeting will be held under the theme The Road to 2028 Electoral Readiness Unity and Discipline, reflecting the party’s intention to strengthen internal cohesion while laying out a clear strategy for the next electoral cycle.

Party officials said the primary objective of the meeting is to engage the membership on the APC Road Map to 2028, with emphasis on election preparedness and internal organization. The engagement is also expected to provide clarity on the party’s direction as it positions itself as a strong contender in future elections.

A key focus of the discussions will be the APC position on Recommendation 78 of the Tripartite Committee, which relates to the preferred electoral system for future elections. The party plans to explain its stance on the recommendation and how it aligns with democratic principles and the broader interests of the country.

In addition, members will receive updates on ongoing electoral reforms and be briefed on their individual and collective civic responsibilities within the party and the national democratic process. Party leaders believe that informed and disciplined membership is essential to achieving electoral success.

The secretariat explained that due to time constraints in conducting nationwide engagements ahead of the party’s lower level elections, which are scheduled to commence on 7 February 2026, the National Mammoth Meeting will serve as a single national forum for all categories of party members.

As a result, members from different regions, districts and constituencies are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting and actively participate in the discussions. The party emphasized that the gathering is an important opportunity for unity and collective reflection as the APC moves into a critical phase of its internal electoral activities.

The APC leadership has also called on members to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout the meeting. According to the party, discipline and respect for party rules are central to building public confidence and maintaining a positive image.

In the statement, the APC expressed confidence that through action, progress and commitment, the party remains firmly positioned on a winning path to 2028. The leadership noted that the meeting will reinforce shared values and collective responsibility among members.

The National Mammoth Meeting is expected to draw a large turnout and is seen as a significant step in consolidating the APC’s internal structures as it prepares for upcoming elections and broader national political engagement.
