The Disabled International Foundation DIF UK and Sierra Leone has honoured Ambassador Anthony Navo with a prestigious global leadership award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to business leadership and enterprise development in the media sector.

The award was presented as part of DIF’s 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee International Leadership and Social Impact Awards, celebrating individuals whose work has demonstrated long term impact, innovation, and social responsibility. Ambassador Navo is the President, financier, owner, and Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Young Voices AYV Media Empire.

According to DIF, the Silver Jubilee International Leadership Award recognises Ambassador Navo’s strategic vision, corporate leadership, and sustained investment in the media and creative economy. Under his leadership, the Africa Young Voices Media Empire has grown into one of Sierra Leone’s most influential private sector institutions, with a strong presence in broadcasting, digital media, advertising, and content production.

The foundation noted that AYV has expanded its operations over the years, strengthened corporate governance structures, and created employment opportunities for a wide range of young professionals. These developments, DIF said, have contributed significantly to youth empowerment and skills development within the country’s competitive media industry.

Ambassador Navo was described as a forward thinking African entrepreneur who has consistently promoted innovation driven business models and private sector growth. His approach, according to the foundation, demonstrates how media enterprises can be commercially successful while remaining socially responsive and committed to inclusive economic growth.

Through strategic investments in digital transformation, brand development, and modern media infrastructure, Ambassador Navo has played a key role in the modernisation of Sierra Leone’s media landscape. DIF said these efforts have helped to set new standards for professionalism, sustainability, and regional relevance within the industry.

Speaking at the award presentation, DIF Founder and President, Dr Imambay Kamara, announced the official grand launch of the Disabled International Foundation later this year. He said the launch will mark 26 years of humanitarian service, advocacy, and institutional impact.

“This award recognises business leaders who combine enterprise growth with social responsibility and long term national impact,” Dr Kamara stated.

In his acceptance remarks, Ambassador Navo dedicated the award to the staff and management of the Africa Young Voices Media Empire, acknowledging their dedication and professionalism. He also dedicated the honour to young entrepreneurs across Sierra Leone, encouraging them to remain innovative and resilient.

Ambassador Navo reaffirmed his commitment to job creation, skills development, and sustainable private sector growth, noting that empowering young people remains central to his vision. The Disabled International Foundation concluded by reiterating its support for business leaders who build successful enterprises while strengthening institutions and creating opportunities for future generations.
