As the All People’s Congress (APC) prepares for its lower-level elections nationwide, one of the prominent aspirants Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has urged party members and supporters to uphold democratic principles and support the party’s national executive to ensure a credible and peaceful electoral process.
In a video message released ahead of the elections, Dr. Bangura emphasized that democracy remains a core value of the APC and a vital pillar for Sierra Leone’s political stability. He called on party well-wishers and members to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the process.
“I call on the well-wishers and members of the All People’s Congress to support the national executives to ensure that we have an outcome that will be pleasing to everyone,” he said.
Dr. Bangura noted that the outcome of the lower-level elections would be instrumental in strengthening internal unity within the party and preparing the APC for a return to governance in 2028.
“The outcome of this process will help the APC to be united and to be ready to take governance in 2028,” he stated.
He further warned against any actions capable of disrupting or undermining the electoral process, urging party members to place the collective interest of the APC above individual ambitions.
“Let us guide against any disruption that might threaten this process. Let us not do anything that will undermine the process,” Dr. Bangura added.
He concluded by thanking party members and supporters for their continued commitment to the APC and its democratic ideals.
