FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE – UBA Foundation and Orange Foundation signed an MOU on Tuesday, 3rd February, to advance digital inclusion, community health infrastructure, and maternal care nationwide. Under the MoU, the first joint project is the full renovation of the York Peripheral Health Unit (PHU) Maternity Clinic.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, commended both corporate institutions, stating: “Health is a national priority. Public-private partnerships are vital to achieving zero maternal deaths. Thank you, UBA and Orange, for this bold step.”

UBA Sierra Leone MD/CEO, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, emphasized the human impact of the initiative: “No child should lose their first breath due to a lack of technology. At UBA, we go beyond banking to build a healthier, stronger Sierra Leone.”

Together, we’re saving lives.
