The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has paid a visit to the construction site of the Share the Light of Islam Organization, where he was warmly received by the Amirr of the organization, Bro Hillal Amin Turay.
The visit formed part of the Minister’s engagement with youth focused initiatives aimed at empowering young people and promoting positive social values across the country. Upon arrival at the site, Bro Hillal Amin Turay guided the Minister through the developing facility and explained the vision behind the project.
According to the Amirr, the centre is being established to support spiritual growth and moral development among young people. He noted that once completed, the facility will host a Tahafiz Centre dedicated to the memorization of the Holy Qur’an. The programme is expected to provide an opportunity for young people who wish to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings while developing discipline and strong moral values.
Bro Hillal Amin Turay further explained that the project goes beyond religious education. The centre will also house a Marriage and Counseling Centre designed to provide guidance and support for couples and families. He said the initiative seeks to promote strong family values and help address social challenges such as the increasing cases of divorce, particularly among young couples.
In addition, the facility will include a multipurpose hall that will serve as a space for community gatherings, educational programmes and youth development activities. Administrative offices will also be part of the structure to support the operations of the organization.
The Share the Light of Islam Organization is widely known for its strong youth membership, with many young people actively participating in its programmes and community activities. The organization focuses on encouraging faith, discipline and service to society among its members.
It was this strong youth involvement that inspired Minister Sannoh to visit the project site. During the visit, he commended the leadership and members of the organization for their commitment to empowering young people through faith based initiatives and community development efforts.
Speaking during the tour, the Minister described the project as a positive example of how young people can contribute to meaningful change in society when they are guided by knowledge, strong moral values and a clear sense of purpose. He noted that initiatives that promote discipline, unity and responsible living are essential for building peaceful and progressive communities.
Minister Sannoh encouraged the leadership of the organization to remain committed to their vision and continue supporting the development of young people. He also called on community leaders and business people to support the project, stressing that investments in youth development initiatives contribute to the long term stability and growth of society.
The leadership of the organization expressed appreciation to the Minister for visiting the site and recognizing their efforts. They said the project reflects their commitment to nurturing a generation of young people who are spiritually grounded, socially responsible and dedicated to building a better future for their communities.
