Rome, 1 April – Luigi Manganiello, Honorary Consul General of Sierra Leone in Italy and National President of CONFIMPRESAITALIA, has been admitted as a member of the Royal Over-Seas League in London, a prestigious international club operating under the patronage of King Charles III.
The organisation, based in the institutional heart of the British capital, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, has historically been supported by the British Royal Family and serves as a global hub for high-profile figures in the institutional, diplomatic and economic sectors.
Founded in 1910, the ROSL was established with an international vocation and, throughout its history, has consolidated its role as a networking hub for figures from the institutional, diplomatic, business and cultural worlds. The relationship with the British Monarchy is one of the club’s defining features: the first Royal Patron was King George V in 1916, and since then the reigning monarch has continued to hold this role; in May 2024, the patronage was assumed by King Charles III. Furthermore, in 1960, the ROSL received a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth II, confirming its historical and institutional significance.
This appointment is particularly significant in light of Manganiello’s role as Honorary Consul General of Sierra Leone, a member of the Commonwealth of Nations with historic ties to the United Kingdom, thereby strengthening dialogue between the British world, West Africa and Europe.
The recognition also highlights the work carried out at the helm of CONFIMPRESAITALIA, a nationally significant employers’ organisation committed to promoting Italian businesses and supporting internationalisation processes.
Membership of the Royal Overseas League forms part of a process of growing international presence, with the aim of consolidating institutional, economic and academic relations between Italy, the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone.
