The bank walked away with the Corporate Excellence Award for Best Bank of the Year, a recognition that reflects its consistent performance, customer driven services, and growing impact within Sierra Leone’s financial sector. The award highlights UBA Sierra Leone’s commitment to innovation, service delivery, and maintaining strong relationships with its clients across the country.

In addition to the institutional recognition, the bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, was honored with the Best Corporate Leader of the Year award. The accolade celebrates his leadership style, strategic direction, and dedication to driving growth within the bank. Under his stewardship, UBA Sierra Leone has continued to expand its footprint while improving service standards and strengthening customer confidence.

The night also brought recognition to Sallieu Sesay, Head of Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications, who received the Professional Excellence Award. His work in shaping the bank’s public image and enhancing communication strategies has played a key role in positioning UBA as a trusted and forward looking brand in Sierra Leone.

Speaking after the ceremony, representatives of the bank described the awards as a reflection of teamwork, resilience, and a shared vision for excellence. They noted that the recognition would serve as motivation to continue delivering quality financial services and supporting national development efforts.

The African Ovation Awards, now in its tenth edition, celebrates individuals and institutions that have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and innovation across various sectors on the continent. This year’s ceremony attracted key stakeholders from business, government, and civil society, all gathered to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions.

UBA Sierra Leone’s success at the event underscores its growing influence in the banking industry and its commitment to setting high standards. The awards also highlight the importance of strong leadership and effective communication in building a reputable financial institution.

As the bank continues to evolve in a competitive environment, these recognitions signal confidence in its direction and reinforce its role in driving financial inclusion and economic growth in Sierra Leone.
