At a meeting held in the United States city of Dallas in the state of Texas on Saturday, 15 November 2025, it was decided by members of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) that they should wrestle the reins of power in the SLPP from the adherents of the PAOPA faction of the party. The flagbearer race for the SLPP is Paopa versus SLPP.

This decision was arrived at, FORUM NEWS was informed by paid up members of the SLPP in the United States, and has in effect pitted SLPP versus PAOPA for the soul and future of the SLPP as a political party and head of government of Sierra Leone.

“At the very sensitive SLPP meeting on Saturday, 15 November, 2025 it was decided that we the members of the SLPP that care about the name, image and reputation of the party and our party government headed by our party leader will have to take the SLPP back from PAOPA. We no longer want PAOPA. We have decided that for this to happen we have to take active role in the flagbearer race of the party to have a true partisan like Dr Alie Kabbah and others to take over the party and return it back to its roots,” FORUM NEWS was reliably informed over the phone from Texas in the US.

According to our sources in the SLPP in Texas, US, PAOPA is made up of people in the diaspora who have hijacked the party while the true SLPP supporters and members suffer. For this reason they have decided as a party to resist any plan or action for the SLPP to continue under the dominance of PAOPA devotees.

“PAOPA members are thieves who came from the diaspora to steal and collect. These people don’t know and don’t care about the grassroots or even the core ideology of the party. They came back to Sierra Leone as if the country owes them. After they are fired they return back to their families and friends in the diaspora with half of the country’s wealth in their diplomatic suites. It is a matter of fact that we are aware that as a continuation of the Julius Maada Bio-PAOPA legacy they are planning on Dr Kangeh Kolleh Yumkella and State House Chief Minister, Dr David Moinina Sengeh as possible replacement for Bio and Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh,” it was alleged by members of the SLPP in Dallas, Texas, USA that spoke to this journo.

The SLPP stalwarts residing in Texas informed this medium that “Fatima Bio has given up” on her ambition to run in the place of her husband for control of the party through the PAOPA proxy because “she knows there is no way she can be what her husband has been to the party and country.”

“Therefore we are going to see Dr Yumkella going up against Dr Sengeh. This puts Bio and his wife on opposing sides. It is of a matter of fact that there is love lost between the first lady and CM Dr Sengeh. He is not the first lady’s favourite. This fact is public information or knowledge and not something we have to concoct: Mrs Bio does not want Dr Sengeh, who we know to be the president’s favourite to continue with his legacy for a third term.

And yes there is widespread division in the SLPP for the future soul of the party’s post-PAOPA.

People like ex-CM and former Finance Minister, Jacob Jusu Saffa alias Blood, Professor David JOHN Francis, PK and Francis Ben Kaifela Esq of the Anti-Corruption are part of the foreign based group who are running the country and allegedly giving the president bad advice. They think that they can control the narrative by keeping the president and people in the dark about what is truly going on in government,” one of the SLPP stalwarts from Texas informed FORUM NEWS.

Some of the members of the ruling SLPP residing in Texas furthered that the members of PAOPA have made a mess of things for which the true members of the SLPP plan to address by wrestling the party’s upper echelon positions from those with ties to the diaspora.

“From the killing of protesting civilians across the country, the April 29 2020 extrajudicial killings at Pademba Road, the calling for commissions of inquiries to look into how the previous regime spent the public purse, the calling of protesters who lost their lives on August 10, 2022 ‘terrorists’, the Auditor General’s report from 2018 onward, the militarisation of our city, towns, villages and streets by gun toting members of the state’s security, the introduction of the Proportional Representation system of election, the conduct and announcement of the result of the 2023 presidential election, the main opposition All People’s Congress – APC not trusting our justice system for electoral justice and had to go the Tripartite Committee route that has not produced the justice we the people deserve, the presence of the wanted drugs dealer in the company of the first family, the deportation of our ambassador from Guinea for cocaine, the sacking of ex-Chief Immigration Officer, Alusine Kanneh for his relationship with this European cocaine smuggler, and the recent arrest of a Turk in Dubai that is related to the European drug dealer with a diplomatic passport from Sierra Leone. All of these and many more issues have not only damaged the image and reputation of the state, it has also damaged SLPP’s chances for a re-election because the people will see the continuation of the PAOPA faction in governance as the SLPP. We want to make it clear that the SLPP is different from PAOPA and we plan on taking the party back from them,” the SLPP stalwarts promised.
