Opposition All People’s Congress Parliamentary Leader Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah and Makeni Municipality Mayor Sunkarie Kabba-Kamara on Monday 26 December 2022 jointly hosted a Christmas party for children of Makeni.
The annual event, also known as ‘Boxing Day Party’, which attracted dozens of children from across the Bombali district community and beyond, was hosted at the Makeni City Council.

Addressing recipients of the gifts, Hon. Bah encouraged the children at the party to always be respectful, obedient to elders in society and focus on their school work and studies.
Hon. Bah informed all that the event was in transition from giving gifts of toys to children to distributing school kits in the coming years.
The APC parliamentary leader added that educational and learning items – ranging from school bags to books, pens, pencils and erasers – will only be presented to best performing children in their various class work come next year’s event.
Hon. Bah further encouraged the children to redouble their efforts to stand a chance to benefit from next year’s gifts.
The Mayor of Makeni, Sunkarie Kabbah-Kamara, commended Hon. Bah for his recurring and timely support towards the programme every year, since its inception five years ago. She also encouraged parents to always remember Hon. Bah in their prayers.
Very essential items as brand new bicycles were given to the three candidates, all girls, who scored excellent grades in their National Primary School Examinations (NPSE) in the Bombali district.
Mariama B. Daboh of United Methodist Church Primary School scored (Agg. 326), Isha Thairu Sow of Tutorial Center for Academic Excellence secured (Agg.321) and Finah Koroma of the same school scored (Agg.319), as all three emerged as the best candidates for the recently concluded NPSE. Hence each of them received a brand new bicycle for their meritorious academic performance.
