National Petroleum Sierra Leone Ltd is purely owned and managed by Serra Leoneans. It is the country’s most reliable service provider in the oil industry. With its efficient performance in the area of quality delivery of petroleum products across Sierra Leone, with functional branches in other four West Africa countries – The Gambia, Guinea, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire, NP (SL) Ltd continues to remain in its position at the very top of the oil industry.
NP (SL) Ltd hires trained and qualified Sierra Leoneans to serve as senior and junior management and administrative positions, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the Company’s output to meet the trending expectations of the emerging oil industry. The Company always delivers when it comes to supplying fuel to all customers beyond surmounting all difficulties. The Company has maintained excellent service delivery which has earned them the title ‘First for Customer Care’
However, contrary to erroneous assertions that the indigenous company attempted ‘undermining government operations’ NP (SL) Ltd services are far from such activities. The Company has not at any time attempted sabotaging public service workers, considering its relentless role in providing regular petroleum products service delivery to Ministries Departments and Agencies, as well as informal and private sector establishments. Non-Governmental Organizations also have their fair shares of reliable, efficient and consistent supplies of petroleum products from NP (SL) Ltd, for which the indigenous business entity is highly commended across a broader spectrum of the society at home and beyond.
Following FORUM’s Tuesday 18th October 2022 edition, in which the publication imprecisely reported on its front cover with a header, that: ‘NP Undermines Govt. Operations’. The newsroom received a call from the Communications Unit, NP-SL Ltd, during a conversation the Communications Manager, NP (SL) Ltd, Dr. Willette (PRO) James made clarifications relating to the issue.
Dr. James said there was no available fuel at the NP (SL) Ltd station at the time when Magistrate Alpha Rashid Jalloh went for his quota. She explained that the Magistrate was then encouraged by one of the company’s pump attendants to go and come later, with the expectations that when fuel is available at the station, he will be informed so that he can come for his quota. Dr. James added that Magistrate Jalloh was even messaged via WhatsApp that when there is fuel he will be informed to collect his quota at the station.
She said it was a misleading assertion that the Company created fuel shortage that deprived public agencies from getting their supplies. Dr. James added that there are evidences that Magistrate Jalloh had collected his previous quotas hitherto the incident in question. She said the Magistrate should have waited for the company to come with supply from the depot. According to Dr. James, NP (SL) Ltd. doesn’t create fuel shortage and no incident has ever been reported where institutions had to cancel their programs because of any ‘dubious games’ on the part of NP.
She clarified that, Mr. John Conteh who is assigned by the Company to supervise the distribution of petroleum products to Commercial customers has been very efficient in this aspect. “In fact, as Team Lead of Commercial Unit at NP (SL) Ltd. John Conteh happens to be one of the best staff that NP (SL) Ltd. has to offer in terms of service delivery.”
With branches in The Gambia, Guinea, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire, NP (SL) Ltd. continues to receive laudable commendations across the board for its satisfactory service delivery to customers in the aforementioned countries. And back home in Sierra Leone, NP (SL) Ltd has positioned itself as the leading oil marketer in the industry that always wins the hearts and minds of customers from public, private and informal sectors to Non-Governmental Organizations throughout the country.
The Company is also rated as a highly reputable establishment for its Corporate Social Responsibilities rendered to individuals and organizations in diverse areas as health, education, sports, public sector enhancements such as recent capacity development it offered the National Fire Force, its roles in the national efforts in the eradication of the COVID-19 pandemic, to name just a few.
