Momentum continues to grow across Europe for Dr Ibrahim Bangura’s campaign as the APC diaspora in France gathered in Paris on June 27 and 28 to show their support for his clear and principled leadership vision.
This gathering marks the second major outreach activity in mainland Europe following the successful launch of the campaign in Germany where an organized and energetic team is already driving activities and community engagement. The events in Germany and now in France reflect a broader effort by the diaspora to take ownership of Sierra Leone’s political future and to rally behind a new kind of leadership.
In Paris, Sierra Leoneans from various parts of France came together with purpose and clarity. Many expressed strong belief in Dr Bangura’s ability to offer credible, disciplined leadership rooted in integrity and national service. Attendees raised key contributions and suggestions, offering fresh ideas on how to rebuild the APC and reposition Sierra Leone on a path of progress. Several also emphasized the urgent need for unity within the party, echoing Dr Bangura’s consistent message that, “If we unite, we win. If we divide, we fall.”
Umaru Jah, the Mainland Europe Campaign Coordinator for Dr Bangura, led the engagement and encouraged participants to move from silent frustration to active participation. He emphasized that the movement is about more than a single visit. It is about laying lasting political foundations across Europe in support of a serious leadership alternative.
“This is not just about preparing for Dr Bangura’s visit. It is about building a committed, organized base of support that is ready to serve the country in real and practical ways,” said Mr Jah.
He also reminded the audience that Dr Bangura is not new to leadership or the APC. He has contributed significantly over the years, quietly supporting peacebuilding efforts and political development. His experience working with the African Union, ECOWAS, and the United Nations in conflict resolution, governance, and regional stability has earned him deep respect on the continent. Now, with that wealth of experience, he is turning homeward with a clear intent to serve Sierra Leone and its people.
Dr Bangura’s message of unity, discipline, and collaboration has begun to strike a deep chord with Sierra Leoneans, both in Europe and at home. His rising popularity is driven by his message of change, one that is not based on empty slogans but on values and a proven record.
At the close of the meeting, APC France formally declared their support for Dr Bangura’s campaign and committed to working as a team in the broader European effort. As a token of appreciation, they presented Mr Jah with an APC France T-shirt, symbolizing solidarity and a shared commitment to progress.
The outreach concluded with the establishment of a local team in France to coordinate campaign activities and strengthen ties with the already active structure in Germany. Plans are now advancing to extend this effort to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy in the coming weeks.
With each city and each gathering, the diaspora is sending a clear message. They are ready to organize, contribute, and stand behind Dr Bangura’s vision for Sierra Leone.
