Africell Family that was comprised of the company Chief Admin and Human Resource, Andrew Fatoma, Legal and Compliance Manager, Hajaratu Sudee Turay and MarComs Manager, John Lapia Konteh has on Thursday 10 August 2023 paid visit to the newly appointed Minister and Deputy Communications Innovation and Technology, Haja Salima M. Bah and Ibrahim Sannoh at their 8th Floor Youyi Building office in Freetown.
In her address, Minister of Communications Innovation and Technology Haja Salima M. Bah expressed her profound gratitude for Africell’s commendable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives within the country.
She emphasized the need to amplifying internet accessibility for the Sierra Leonean populace in hard-to-reach communities.
The minister also expressed keen interest in augmenting collaborations to achieve this goal while she further highlighted her commitment working closely with the private sector to meet the pressing needs of Sierra Leoneans.
She emphasized on the need to develop a strategic sector plan, with a primary objective focused on enhancing rural penetration and connectivity.
The minister revealed her intention to collaborate closely with Universal Access Development Fund to ensure seamless access, foster innovations, and aligning sectorial training and employment opportunities.
Africell’s Chief Admin and HR Officer Andrew Fatoma extended hearty congratulations to both Minister and Deputy on their appointments.
He disclosed to the ministers that Africell currently operates over 550 sites spread across Sierra Leone and making significant strides in every district.
“Africell actively collaborates with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, citing the National Telecommunication Authority and the Universal Access Development Fund (UADF) to offer robust functional support”. Fatoma said.
