The people of Pujehun District have appreciated the SLPP government for ensuring that the government lives up to its campaign promises made by President Julius Maada Bio in 2018.
They recalled that during the 2018 presidential campaign president Bio promised to electrify the district.
Under the seven (7) Districts Electrification project, Pujehun stands to be one among the districts.
During the official presentation of thermal plants to the district, the Vice President and presidential running mate of the incumbent Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh talked on the significance of the district in the socioeconomic matrix of the country.
He described electricity as a critical driver of national development.
It is the expectation of the government that the provision of electricity in provincial headquarters towns will create positive impacts in the district and on the nation’s socioeconomic endeavour, as a sustainable facelift of the district.
Vice President Jalloh lauded the Energy Minister, Alhaji Kanja Sesay for what he described as a stellar and responsible leadership that is service focused.
The V P Jalloh labelled the Alhaji Sesay noting that he is an enabler of President Bio’s vision in the energy sector.
Project Manager CONCIEL, Mohamed Najib said the project would soon be commissioned.
Giving the background of the project, the Energy Minister, Alhaji Kanja Sesay said the erection of poles, stringing of cables and the strategic stationing of transformers already completed.
Alhaji Kanja Sesay assured the district that thermal plants will address the generation component and demands of the project.
He entreated residents to seize the opportunity to secure meters with a view to genuinely having houses connected to the township grid.
