The Guild of Newspaper Editors (GoNE) confirms that its Chairman, Thomas Dixon, has been summoned and is currently at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Freetown.

While initial reports suggest the summons may be connected to recent editorial coverage involving Leone Rock Metal Group, the Guild is actively seeking clarity on the matter and is engaging with legal and institutional stakeholders to ensure that journalistic freedoms and due process are upheld.

We wish to assure our members and the public that the Guild is monitoring developments closely and remains committed to defending the integrity and independence of the press.
