Malador Associates (MA) has opened on Thursday 17 August, 2023, a new filling station at Rokel in the Western Rural District.

During the brief but well attended event, the company acknowledged the supportive role of President Julius Maada Bio’s administration to sustain the operations of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Sierra Leone.

The government’s efforts in creating the enabling environment for expansion of the petroleum industry, has made it possible for the company to provide petroleum services throughout the country. “We hope much more will be done for private sector involvement in stimulating economic growth,” the chief executive officer of the company said.

He commended the National Petroleum Company (NP) and CONEX for their pivotal roles over the years in supporting Malador Associates.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam of Fullah Central Mosque, Alhaji Amadu Barrie, who officiated the ceremony, gave a brief narration about the solid relationship that existed between himself and the father of Mr. Alieu Malador, the CEO of Malador Associates. He began by saying, he knew Alhaji Issa Malador (now late), the father of Mr. Malador dating years back when the latter was a kid. Expressing gratitude towards the late man for being supportive towards him and his family, the Imam noted with delight seeing the son following in the footsteps of his father in performing good deeds. He pointed out that the legacy of Alhaji Issa Malador shall continue to live on, and it is no surprise seeing his son making such progress.

Alhaji Med Saj Jalloh, the Fullah Tribal Chief in his brief address alluded owing a debt of gratitude to his junior brother and son, as he refers to Mr. Malador, for his dogged determination in championing development in the country. He expressed how elated he feels seeing the smiles he brings to households or homes by providing jobs for Sierra Leoneans.

The opening ceremony was attended by dozens of business dignitaries and members of the Fullah community, including the Fullah Tribal Chief Alhaji Med Saj Jalloh, his deputy Alhaji Lamarana Sow and the Fullah Progressive Union (FPU) global president Alhaji Omar Sanu Barrie. Other dignitaries include Alhaji Hamdallai Barrie, Alhaji Ibrahim Razak Bah, Mr. Foday Kamara, Mr. Augustine Alpha, Alhaji Kammoh Brima among others who are all important players in national development.

The Chief Imam of Ilmo Zikri (Hill Station Central Mosque) Alhaji Chernoh Jalloh was also in attendance.

The host Rokel community Fullah Chief Alhaji Sellu Jalloh and the community mosque Imam also graced the auspicious occasion.

Malador Associates will never forget the support and kindness of the Group Chairman of NP (SL) Ltd, Ing. Alhaji Mohamed Babatunde Cole for his invaluable support over the years towards the furtherance of MA’s aims and objectives.

The company would also like to thank the management and staff of Malador Associates for their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty. MA would have been nothing without the pump attendants, tanker drivers, cleaners and security guards.

The ceremony was climaxed with Quranic recitations and prayers for the success of the business.
