Might Blackpool one of the household names in Sierra Leone Football has suffered another defeat in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.

After a poor performance from the “Tis Tas Boy” in the first leg of the Sierra Leone Premier League, fans were expecting the team to come up strong in the second leg of the league; however, their poor runs continue in the second leg where they lost their first game in the second half of the league to Lamboi FC by two goals to nil at the SLFA Academy Kingtom, in Freetown.

Lamboi FC commonly known as the “Pilot Boys” hailed from Lungi unmarceylessly dismantled Mighty Blackpool the “Tis Tas Boys” in the ongoing Leone Rock Sierra Leone Premier League on Wednesday 20th March 2024.

Mighty Blackpool is one of the oldest football teams in the history of Sierra Leone football and their recent poor performance has caused a very disappointing moment for the technical team, players and fans. Both teams were determined going into the match and there were a lot of chances created in the first half of play but there was no goal to separate the both sides and the match ended goalless in the first half. The two teams keep knocking to get the opener until Lamboi FC brought their debutant striker Foday Conteh, who scored a brace and give Lamboi FC all three points and also won the Man of the Match Award against Mighty Blackpool FC.

Might Blackpool 2-0 defeat to Lamboi FC has culminated a total of 10 defeats in 18 games played so far in this season’s campaign. They have managed to win 4 and draw 4 with only 16 points on their credit and they are seated in 17th position with only one point ahead of Kholifa Stars who are at the rock bottom of the table.

On the other hand, this win for Lamboi FC has seen them to hold the 7th position in the league with 26 points after 18 games played. They have won 7, draw 5 and lost 6 so far in the league.

What the future holds for the “Tis Tas Boys”? Football loving fans asked. And many say if they don’t improve in their performance, Might Blackpool one of the oldest football team in Sierra Leone and even the sub region could relegate from the Sierra Leone top flight league.
