A Nigerian national who claims to be a footballer Badmus Afeez Bangalie has been arraigned before Magistrate Court Mark Ngeba of Pademba Road Court No.1 for been in possession of cannabis sativa and some strip of tramadol without lawful authority.
The accused was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis sativa and contravention of required under Section 59(1) of the Pharmacy and Drugs Act of 2001.
It was alleged on the charge sheet that the accused on Wednesday 13 May 2023 at Brima Lane, Wellington in Freetown, he was found in possession of two wraps of cannabis sativa weighing 4.1 grams and was also found with forty-one strips of tramadol tablets 22mg weighing 129.7 grams without reasonable excuse.
After the charges were read and explain to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor Inspector Kadie Taylor sought for a date on the grounds that that complainant and his witnesses are absent in court.
The accused who was not legally represented and was denied bail and the matter was adjourned to the 28th of June 2023 for hearing.
