Either it is the case of ‘One Good Turn Deserves Another’ or ‘A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed’, the fact remains that the Stalwarts of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party in Karene, Kambia and Port Loko districts have endorsed Hon. Kombor Kamara as Regional Chairman.One would wonder what they could have done under the circumstance where someone is willing to stake his fortune in protecting and promoting your interest. His is precisely the situation for the People of the North West Region, especially Members and Supporters of the main Opposition Party in the Country, who seem very much badly constrained in celebrating this year’s Festive Season as well as fully preparing for the Lower Level Elections of their Political Party.
It is an undeniable fact that the prevailing standard of living in the Country is so rough and tough that this Festive Season cannot be said to be as eventful as it used to be. Apart from the limited financial resources most People are exposed to, there is also the high cost of Fuel which has made a bad situation even worse. Most People could not afford the means to travel to the Provinces for the Festive Season as it used to be. Even the bulk of those who are compelled by their low financial status not to travel upcountry, can hardly make the sumptuous meals known for such a yearly Occasion. Therefore, it is more of an obligation for the Stalwarts of this Region to remain loyal to anyone who can salvage their situation at this critical point in time.
Hon. Kombor Kamara emerged as the most popular and well – favoured Candidate for the series of his unique and timely interventions particularly to the Electorate and the categories of Needy People in this part of the Country. He showcased his Leadership Qualities way back when he served as Member of Parliament for the People of Lokomasama and Kamasundo Chiefdoms. He was able to upgrade those Chiefdoms from ‘deprived to enviable standards of attraction. He did not only address the unending needs of Farmers, Youths and Religious Sectors, but made sure that a School Bus was exclusively provided to address the concerns of Pupils from distant Towns and Villages. He constructed Roads, Bridges, Mosques, Schools, Community Centres and Market Places throughout his Constituency. His exemplary performance earned him the nomenclature ‘Political Messi’.
The unfading desire of Hon. Kombor Kamara came to a Canter – stage after the All Peoples Congress Party lost governance several years ago. Most of his colleague Politicians fled the Country for fear of the wrath of the Serra Leone Peoples Party [SLPP] might have meted on them. The bulk of those who risk staying in the Country remained inactive. There were even instances of other APC Party Members who subdued their allegiance to the Ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party. But he has always remained a true and upright APC Party Member in Port Loko District – the most wanted Region by the Ruling Party. One of the classic demonstrations he made as a reliable Member of the All Peoples Congress Party, was during the Parliamentary Bye Elections in Koya a couple of months ago, when he opted to champion the Campaign while others who made fortune from the Party, submerged in wanting not to spend a Kopek in the APC. The former Member of Parliament has acted in the same capacity in all the Bye Elections conducted in Port Loko District until now he is being nicknamed ‘Leader of the APC Winning Team’.
The lack of effective representation in the North West Region has compelled Hon. Kombor Kamara to opt for the Position – which is generally perceived to vacant due to the inactiveness of its Incumbent Holder – Hon. Alhaji Buya Kamara. Quite often, Hon. Kombor Kamara is perturbed by the conspicuous absence of a health political competitive spirit in the Region. He seemed particularly pissed off with the notion that those who made money out of the Party are very reluctant to give even a fraction either towards its reformation or cohesion. It is in a bid to redeem the Party from its apparent collapse that he now eyes the enviable position of Regional Chairman. His aspiration is now known to every jack Hill and Harry in the rank and file of the Party. As a result, People are streaming in for all sort of assistance day in and out.
The situation has become increasingly tense of late as the Party gears up to its Lower Level Elections slated to commence sometime this week. He is of the firm belief that Members of the Mighty APC should be able to celebrate the Festive Season regardless the fact that they are in the Opposition and at such a trying moment in the history of this Country. Hon. Kombor Kamara has therefore disbursed the total sum of 70 Million Old Leone in 2 consecutive days. He gave the first trunk of 30 Million Leones to the Port Loko District Parliamentary Caucus on 24th. December and another 40 Million Leones the following day [Christmas Day] to the Party Stalwarts from the Sister Districts of Kareneh, Kambia and Port Loko. This is a cash donation to enable them actively participate in the ongoing Festivity. ‘We are a government in waiting and all of you are entitle to the right to enjoy yourselves. Therefore, I encourage you all to go home and live your lives. Please enjoy within the framework of the Law. Remain mindful of the fact that our Lower Level Elections are around the Corner. Make sure you vote in People who have the interest of the Party and Grassroots in Particular’ Hon. Kombor Kamara admonished his admirers.
It was so delightful a moment that most People could not find the appropriate words to express their in-depth appreciation. All they said was, ‘We appreciate dearly. Now we know for sure that this Party is bound to grow to an unchallengeable height with you in the hem of affairs. Be rest assured that nothing will change our love for you. We are going to vote you in as our Regional Chairman. As a matter of fact, consider yourself as Chairman n waiting’ one speaker after the other muttered as they depart for their respective localities
