The Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh has informed this medium that the Sierra Leone Police arrested size five Carton of tramadol. He said in response to rising concerns over drug abuse as Yayah Jalloh of Devil Road, Freetown, was apprehended at the Gelehun Checkpoint on the Liberia Jendema Highway with five (5) cartoons of tramadol.
He disclosed that the arrest followed a meticulous search, underscoring the importance of such security measures as Yayah Jalloh, enroots to Morovia, and was intercepted during the early hours of Sunday, March 17, 2024.“The Sierra Leone Police remain steadfast in their efforts to combat drug trafficking, resulting in tangible progress in curbing the availability of illicit substances like Kush, Cannabis-Sativa, and Tramadol,” stated. He concluded that the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) is actively investigating the drug’s origin and pursuing other suspects involved in the illicit trade while the suspect Jalloh is currently detained and will face charges related to drug trafficking. Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to aid in the fight against substance abuse.
