Personnel of the Sierra Leone Police have received their rice quota nationwide from contractor VIP, confirmed SLP Directorate of Support Services, Media and Outreach Department.

Government has been supplying rice quotas to security personnel as a form of addressing their welfare and boost to the moral. The issue of police rice supply being categorized to have political and security implications ranging from timeliness to poor quality of rice supply reflect negatively on performances of police personnel.

In late 2021 the SLP rice contract was awarded to Bella Trading Company SL Ltd, owned by a successful business tycoon, Ahmed H Hashim also known as VIP, who doubles as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VIP Group of Companies.

Since VIP stepped in as SLP rice contractor all anomalies and irregularities in the area of police supply became a thing of the past.

VIP ensured that quality control measures are put in place in the execution of its contract and delivery of rice to the Sierra Leone Police.
