The Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) has in a press release dated 30 November 2023; assured the public that there would be adequate stock availability of petroleum products that will cover beyond the festive period.
According to the release, PRA had observed queues at some retail outlets in the major cities for petroleum product, adding that the queues was as a result of routine pipeline maintenance that was interrupted over the weekend which affected the normal supply chain in the country.
The release furthered that the pipeline maintenance had been successfully completed overnight as the engineering work resumed immediately after the situation improved.
It continued that petroleum products had been transferred overnight to various fuel terminals including NP SL, LeonOil & Conex Energy.
The release noted that based on the current import parity and the downstream pricing structure, pump prices would remain unchanged at NLe30 per litre throughout Sierra Leone.
It strongly warned all the notorious petroleum hoarders to desist from their illegal activities or face the full penalty of the law including cancellations of operating license.
