Ibrahim Jeffason Kamara a twenty-two years old pupil, Sahr Abu Bockarie a thirty-one years old footballer and Abdulai Sankoh a fifty years old businessman on Thursday, 17CTH October, 2024, made their first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on three count charges to wit Conspiracy contrary to law, House breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916 and Receiving stolen goods property contrary to section 33 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 2nd August 2024 at cordialia drive Regent Road Lumley the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit house breaking and larceny
Count two further stated that on the same date and place the accused persons with intent to steal broke and entered into the dwelling house of Kalila Omaru Bah and stole therein four Toliet seats, four steel metal doors and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of one hundred and sixty seven five hundred Leones(167,500) property of kalilu Omaru Bah
Count three the third accused person did receive three wooden parnel doors value ten thousand Leones each all to the total value of Thirty thousand Leones(30,000) Property of Kalilu Omaru Bah knowing same to have been stolen
When the charges was read and explained to the accused persons no plea taken by the 1st and 2nd accused persons while the 3rd accused pleaded not guilty
The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh sought for a short adjournment for him to get proper conference with his witness
Counsel S.Eleanor Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they’re Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that they have reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will they jumped bail she made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused persons to the male correctional facility in Freetown as the case has been adjourned to the 22nd of October, 2024, for further proceedings.
