The Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO), Ing. George Lamin Vandi has said that the Company hopes to do more for the people of Sierra Leone in 2023 and beyond. He said that his administration has devised prudent mechanism to enhance strategic decision making and to accelerate delivery in the operations of the company.
MD Vandi added that the management of SALWACO recently held a two-day management meeting to discuss institutional challenges and possible other ways of addressing same. He said that they have now put a support systems in place to facilitate sustained growth and progress. Ing. Vandi also informed how the SALWACO Board has already presented the 2021 SALWACO Annual Report to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Water Resources, Hon. Philip Karimu Lansana. The MD said that the presentation of the Annual Report is a requirement as enshrined in the SALWACO Act of 2017.
The SALWACO MD furthered that customer care issues and general staff welfare have generally been upgraded and that all hands are now on deck to deliver water services to the people of Sierra Leone, precisely the provinces which is the mandated operational jurisdiction of the Company.
