The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has commenced a two-day training for match coordinators at the SLFA secretariat in Freetown on the 25th October, 2023.
The motive of the training is to enhance the capacity of over 70 football match coordinators (male and female) to ensure best practice and professionalism in carrying out their duties in preparation for the commencement of a record number of 6 competitions across all categories, including the male and female Premier Leagues.
The opening ceremony was witnessed by the SLFA Assistant General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, Chairman of the Sierra Leone Premier League Board Victor Lewis, SLFA Director of Competitions Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Head of Women’s Football Miriam Heroe and the Head of Safety and Security Mohamed Bowen Freeman.
Addressing the participants, the Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh stated that: “Such training is key to the smooth running of football competitions in the country.”
He further revealed that “the Sierra Leone Football Association is set to conduct more training to capacitate all key officials in match organization, to enhance performance, discipline and fair play in the game.”
