The fourth and final prosecution witnesses in the Gold Seal store theft matter, Umaru Tarawalie, a labourer of BSB Company, has told Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No. 1 that he was the one who noticed the alleged theft at Gold Seal Company.

The accused persons, Amadu Koroma and Alimamy Kamara are before the court after police investigation for redress on allegations of conspiracy to commit felony and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

First accused Amadu Koroma was taken to court for stealing from Gold Seal Company thirty-six bags of rice and ten thousand empty bags, whiles second accused Alimamy Kamara was dragged for allegedly receiving the empty bags and putting them on sales.

When the matter was charged to court, the complainant narrated how he came to know that the rice and bags were stolen and the steps he took to report the matter to the police.

Led in evidence by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Osman Mohamed Bangura the fourth witness recognized complainant Amadu Sow and the first accused as a fellow labourer.

He recalled the 4th March 2023, when he was at the BSB store at Kennedy Street in Freetown when his boss, the complainant, Amadu Sow sent him to check for the empty Gold Seal and Chinese bags. He said he later returned and informed his boss that the bags were missing.

The fourth witness further said he gave his boss the information that he saw the bag at one petty trader’s store at Kanikay, Cline Town.

Upon reaching that point, defence counsel A.S. Sesay objected to the way the prosecutor was leading the witness.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura asked the prosecutor to adjourn the matter for him to get better conference with his client. The matter was adjourned for further hearing.
