UBA- Sierra Leone, the country’s fastest-growing financial institution, took centre stage at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Workshop on Telecommunication Service Quality, held July 1st in Freetown. The bank highlighted its commitment to improving the Quality of Service (QoS) in digital financial services and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Representing UBA- Sierra Leone at the high-level workshop were Mohamed Sillah, Head of Information Technology; and Saidu Munu, Digital Banking Support Officer. Both played key roles in discussions focused on the intersection of telecommunications, digital finance, and service reliability.

The ITU workshop brought together stakeholders from across the public and private sectors, including telecom operators, regulators, and financial institutions, to discuss best practices for improving service delivery in an increasingly digital world. UBA Sierra Leone’s participation underscored the growing importance of partnerships between the telecom and financial sectors to strengthen Sierra Leone’s digital economy.

During the session, the UBA representatives shared valuable insights on how digital banking can be made more efficient and accessible, particularly in remote and underserved communities. They emphasized the importance of seamless service delivery, user-friendly platforms, and secure transaction systems in fostering customer trust and financial inclusion.

“At UBA Sierra Leone, we are not just offering digital banking—we’re building trust, accessibility, and quality,” said one of the bank’s representatives. “Together with our partners, we aim to make every digital transaction smoother, faster, and more reliable for all Sierra Leoneans.”

The workshop provided an opportunity for UBA to showcase its efforts in enhancing digital banking platforms through investments in technology, cybersecurity, and customer support infrastructure. The bank reaffirmed its dedication to aligning its services with international standards while addressing local challenges such as network instability and limited digital literacy.

UBA- Sierra Leone also stressed the need for continued collaboration between mobile network operators, financial institutions, and government regulators to create a more robust digital financial ecosystem. By working together, stakeholders can ensure that innovations in digital banking are inclusive, secure, and responsive to the needs of all users.

As digital financial services become an integral part of everyday life in Sierra Leone, UBA continues to lead the charge in delivering reliable, high-quality solutions. The bank’s active role in platforms such as the ITU Workshop demonstrates its broader vision of driving digital transformation and economic development across the nation.

With a focus on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, UBA- Sierra Leone remains a trailblazer in the evolution of digital banking in West Africa.
