For the sake of peace and national cohesion, many state men have joined others in congratulating the President Julius Maada Bio for his re-election and are welcoming him to State House for the second time under democratic rule.
But many citizens, if given the opportunity to interface him would want to humbly ask President Bio some few questions among other things they might certainly be yearning to know the following:
Sir, based of your killings confession and promise during the campaigns ahead of the just concluded elections, would you truly reframe from the killing of innocent civilians?
Mr President Sir, would you truly open the democratic and political spaces for other political players to fully participate without intimidation?
Mr President, in the coming years under your hegemonic second term rule, would you turn the anti-corruption campaign internal by clamping down on would be corrupt public officials in your administration/government?
President Bio sir, would you truly not influence the rulings in the awaited petitions to the Sierra Leone Electoral and Offences Court?
The People’s President Sir, would you allow annual and performance audit reports to be debated by the House of Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the best interest of democratic transparency and accountability this time round?
His Excellency Sir, considering the degree of interest placed on settling financial leakages as promised in 2018 and in the recently concluded campaign, would you allow the Office of the President to be fully audited this time around as it is done in other Ministries Department and Agencies outside the presidency?
His Excellency Sir, would you promise to the people of Sierra Leone that in the coming years you will grant prerogative of mercy to one of your longest serving political detainees, Mohamed Kamarimba Mansaray?
Father of the nation would you appear more civil as a ‘democratically elected’ president this time around than that of a mere military dictator in your second term of state governance Sir if any?
As forgiving Catholic Christian, H.E. Sir, would you drop all cases against your political rival, the main opposition All People’s Congress APC in courts as true and frantic demonstration of your commitment to peace and national cohesion being sing song by the peace commission?
Sir, would you truly construct the much talked about Lungi Bridge thereby giving late former president Alhaji Dr Ahmed Tejan Kabbah opportunity of a broad smile in his grave for actualizing his vision and dream?
Would you truly use your office to bridge both APC and the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party political and regional divide Sierra Leone had and continues to struggle with Sir?
H.E Sir, would you bring durable solution to the country’s bread and butter issues thereby changing the long-standing narrative of the country economy for good?
Would you discourage politicization of jobs and allow citizens from other regions and ethnic backgrounds in the country to be gainfully employed regardless of once political affiliation Sir?
His Excellency Sir, would you assure former APC ministers like Alieu Patso and other of a safe return to country?
Sir, would you design a compensation scheme for the families of innocent prisoners, especially those who were incarcerated for non-criminal offences and killed in the Pademba Road maximum prison disaster?
