Lansana Kpewolo Kanneh has been appointment as Acting Deputy Statistician General of Stats SL, to support the recently appointed SG/CEO, Andrew Bob Johnny. This decision was taken at a council / board meeting held yesterday 23rd May at the Stats SL temporary Headquarters in Freetown.
Mr Kanneh who has served Stats SL for 12 years, ascends to the post vacated by the current SG/CEO which had been vacant since April 1,2023.
Until his appointment, Mr Kanneh had diligently served as Director of Finance and Support Services, handling Finance, Administration, Human Resources and Procurement for the past 8 years. Overall, he has up to 18 years’ experience at the managerial level.
Mr Kanneh holds a M.Sc in Fin.Eng., a MBA in Leadeship and a Bachelor in Social Sciences (Accounting).
He is a fellow of the chartered institute of accountants (FCCA) in the UK.
Mr Kanneh has a wealth of experience in World Bank and other donor funded project planning and implementation, and financial and procurement processes.
He has Extensive knowledge in censuses and general data collection, survey design, planning, implementation, analysis, reporting and presentation, Finance, Economics, Statistics and data science.
He is also versed in the use of data management and analysis infrastructures including SQL,SPSS,Python and R.
In other related news, Council also appointed Mohamed Basiru Bah, a seasoned accountant who had been the officer-in-charge of the Internal Audit division to the position of Acting Director of Internal Audit and Compliance.
Alfred Kamanda Saquee, who had been serving as Principal Accountant in the Finance and Admin Division was also appointed to serve as the Officer-In-Charge of Finance and Administration division.
