Director, Ambulance Services, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Dr Mathew Vandi has registered government’s profound appreciations to the 24th Batch of the Chine Medical Team for the donation of medical supplies and educational support to the country.
He said thousands of Sierra Leoneans have over the years benefited from the goodwill of the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
Dr Vandi last Friday 2nd June 2023 made the acknowledgment at the donation hosted by the 24th Batch of the Chinese Medical Team with medical equipment to Sierra Leone, at a presentation ceremony organized at the Sierra Leone–China Friendship Hospital, Jui in the Western Rural District.
The Director of Ambulance Services lauded the Chinese Medical Team for its “Hospital on the Wheel” initiative, which he confirmed implies taking the hospital to the people.
He implored the team to give a facelift to the Sierra Leone-China Friendship
Hospital at Jui.
The donated medical items include oral and intravenous medications, that includes, antibiotics, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory, nervous systems and consumables.
Dr Chen Yong Jun, Team Leader, 24th Batch of Chinese Medical Team informed that their greatest help to the hospital has been in the areas of technical support.
He said the items worth over 300,000 RMB, which is equivalent to One Million New Leones.
Dr Chen Young Jun recalled that the Director, Emergency Department, Sierra Leone–China Friendship Hospital highlighted the urgent need for an electro cardio gram machine as an essential for emergency diagnosis and treatment.
