The Head Coach of Sierra Leone’s national team, John Edward Keister has last evening unveiled his final 23-man squad to face Dijurtus of Guinea-Bissau in the ongoing 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifies.
This encounter is scheduled to take place on Monday 11 September 2023, at the Estodio 24 de Setembro Stadium in Bassau.
Sierra Leone is in third place with five points from five matches played, while Guniea-Bissau is in second place with 10 points from their five matches. Only the top two teams in the group will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament that will be hosted in Côte d’Ivoire.
Among the 23-man squad, there are three (3) goalkeepers, eight (8) defenders, six (6) Midfielders and six (6) attackers.
The three goalkeepers are: Mohamed N. Kamara, Ibrahim Sesay and Donald Kamara. The defenders are Osman Kakay, Abubakarr Samura, Emmanuel Samadia, Alpha Turay, Lamin Conteh, Edward Bello Yillah, Abdulai Juma Bah, and Joseph Cleveland.
The six (6) midfielder are: Alhassan Koroma, Saidu Fofanah, Salieu Bah, Mamadu Saidu Sow, Ibrahim Turay, and Mohamed Kabba. Finally, the six (6) strikers are: Amadou Bakayoko, Ron Gandi Williams, Ibrahim Turay, Saidu Fofanah, Augustus Kargbo, and Rodney Michael.
Coach Keister is anticipating victory in their final group A match of the qualifiers, despite there are lot of speculation going round on social media that this could be the last match for head coach John Keister in the national team. The best is wished to Keister and his boys!
