In a move to continue to provide safe drinking water especially in the provincial areas, the Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO), Ing. George Lamin Vandi and team have paid an on the spot visit at Gondama Barracks.
The thrust of the visitation also aims to help salvage the water stress situation and provide potable water to the barracks, hospital and residents including military personnel and families.
During the visit, it was agreed that the MD of SALWACO will approve a quick win to resume water supply which is a short term plan and detailed assessments were done by the team and the Director of Project Management at SALWACO, Ing. Yankuba Tarawally will work with the Station Manager of SALWACO Bo, Ing. Osman Turay, the Director of Administration, SALWACO, Mr. Dennis Macavorey and the Operations Manager of SALWACO, Ing. Abu Kallon to provide a permanent solution to the water situation at the barracks.
The visit was done in line with the call from Sierra Leone’s Honorable Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, to the Managing Director of SALWACO to help provide immediate remedy to the water supply situation at the barracks. The SALWACO Boss and Team met with the Brigade Commander and other senior military personnel of the Gondama Barracks.
