Sierra Leone’s men National team, Leone Stars has been held into a goalless draw against Chad in their quest for a place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
This particular encounter many say got off to a frustrating start as Leone Stars was expecting all three points but they were held to a goalless draw by Chad at the Samuel KD Stadium in Liberia.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous scoring chances, the Leone Stars were unable to find the back of the net at the end of the final whistle.
Crystal Palace’s Hindolo Mustapha made his debut for Sierra Leone, coming on as a substitute under the guidance of head coach Amidu Karim.
The team’s attacking intent was clear throughout the match, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
In the first half of played Leone Stars had been dominanting possession with multiple goal scoring opportunities but they failed to capitalize on their chances.
Chad look more confident in the final 10 minutes with series of counter attacks but Mohamed N Kamara was forced to move from his goal area to ease pressure in 39 & 44 minutes respectively whilst Sierra Leone Skipper Steven Kamara brilliant header rescue his side from going down in the stoppage time in first half of played.
Sierra Leone midfield mestros which contains Alusine and Alhassan Koroma did very well, Augustus Kargbo, Samadia, Bundu and Josh need to build a better partnership for a goal.
Sierra Leone will now turn their attention to their next qualifier against Zambia, which is scheduled for September 10th at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
