Alhaji Brima Elvis Koroma, the outgoing Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Senegal, made a heartfelt farewell visit to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye at the State House in Dakar on Thursday, October 24, 2024. In his address, Ambassador Koroma reflected on his six-year tenure, describing it as “invigorating” and filled with enriching experiences that felt all too brief.
Expressing his gratitude, he noted, “My stay in your beautiful country allowed me to familiarise myself with qualities recognized among your compatriots, such as maturity, humility, and wisdom. Senegal has indeed always been able to surpass itself to give reason to its many friends who rightly consider it as the precious compass for our dear continent, which today faces many challenges.”
President Faye acknowledged the Ambassador’s contributions to strengthening the ties between Senegal and Sierra Leone, urging him to remain a close ally of Senegal in his future endeavors. He also highlighted the recent joint cooperation agreement signed between the two nations as a significant step forward in their relationship.
The President expressed pride in the leadership shown by Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, during recent international engagements, including the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council presidency.
Ambassador Koroma, who is set to take on a new role in Algeria, leaves behind a legacy of collaboration and goodwill that promises to enhance the diplomatic relations between the nations.
