All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Ibrahim Bangura has officially launched his campaign in Red Pump, a community he described as central to his personal and political journey, receiving strong endorsement from local stakeholders and residents.

The launch, held in the presence of members of the Western Area Campaign Team, marked a significant step in Dr. Bangura’s bid for the APC’s top ticket ahead of the next elections. Speaking to a gathering of supporters, he unveiled his campaign slogan, “Heal, Unite, Build,” which he said reflects his vision for both the party and the nation.

Dr. Bangura emphasized his long standing relationship with Red Pump, noting that the community has played a key role in shaping his growth and leadership values. He described the area not just as a place of residence but as a foundation of his identity and commitment to public service.

“I am proud to stand here in Red Pump, a place I call home. This community has contributed immensely to who I am today, and I believe it is time to give back through service and leadership,” he said.

He called on residents to embrace unity and active participation in the political process, stressing that meaningful development can only be achieved through collective effort. According to him, his campaign is rooted in inclusiveness, accountability, and a strong determination to deliver on promises made to the people.

Dr. Bangura also highlighted the need for healing within the APC, urging party members to put aside differences and work together towards a common goal. He noted that unity within the party would be critical in strengthening its chances in future elections.

The event also saw a major boost for his campaign as the community chief publicly endorsed his candidacy. The chief reaffirmed the community’s support for Dr. Bangura, particularly as the party prepares for its national delegate convention.

“We believe in Dr. Bangura’s vision and leadership. He has shown commitment to this community and we are confident he can lead the party and the country in the right direction,” the chief stated.

Members of the Red Pump community campaign team also pledged their full support, promising to mobilize residents and eligible voters in favour of Dr. Bangura. They expressed confidence in his leadership qualities and his ability to represent the interests of the people.

“We are ready to work for him. We will ensure that everyone who is eligible comes out to support Dr. Ibrahim Bangura,” one team member said.

The campaign launch in Red Pump is seen as a strong starting point for Dr. Bangura’s flagbearer bid, signalling growing grassroots support as he positions himself for the APC’s internal contest.
