Four Sierra Leonean football officials have been appointed to serve at the 2026 WAFU A Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in The Gambia.
The appointments were announced by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), which said the selection of the four officials is a recognition of their experience and contribution to football administration and officiating in the country.
SLFA TMS Manager Miriam Heroe has been appointed General Coordinator for the regional competition. Her role will involve supporting the overall coordination and smooth running of the tournament.
Women’s Premier League Board Secretary Angela C. Gabidon has also received an appointment as a member of the Disciplinary Committee.
The two appointments add to the growing involvement of Sierra Leonean football administrators in regional competitions and provide an opportunity for them to contribute to the organisation and management of the qualifiers.
Meanwhile, two Sierra Leonean referees have also been selected to officiate during the competition.
Aminata Fullah has been appointed as a referee, while Agness Gbla will serve as an assistant referee.
Their appointments are expected to further highlight the progress being made in the development of women’s football officiating in Sierra Leone.
The WAFU A Women’s Champions League Qualifiers will bring together clubs from the West African region as they compete for qualification opportunities in the continental women’s football competition.
The participation of Sierra Leonean officials will give them valuable regional experience while also allowing them to represent the country on an international stage.
The SLFA congratulated Miriam Heroe, Angela C. Gabidon, Aminata Fullah and Agness Gbla on their appointments and wished them success in their respective roles.
The football governing body also expressed confidence that the four officials would uphold professionalism and represent Sierra Leone with distinction throughout the competition.
