African Civil Aviation Congratulates Sierra Leone

The President, African Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC), Silas Udahemuka has in a letter dated 17th June 2023 addressed to the leadership of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority warmly congratulated the Director, SLCAA Dr Moses Tiffa Baio for the aviation’s continuous development of the safety and aviation operations.

Mr. Udahemuka’s justification was anchored on the country’s recently completion of the International Civil Aviation Organizations (ICAO) Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) CMA Audit, in which the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority excelled with the sector and Dr Baio’s head high above waters.

He acknowledged the tremendous increase in the Effective Implementation (EI) of Sierra Leone from 16.03% to 74.22%, stands as a testament to the great work done by the SLCAA, towards improving and maintaining safe and secure aviation operations.

“On behalf of the African Civil Aviation Commission, we are truly pleased to work and continue to joint efforts in promoting the African Aviation Sector” he concluded.

It could be recalled that the leader of the ICAO audit team, Louis Opuko during recent engagement with the Ministry of Transport and Aviation and the country’s head of civil aviation authority, disclosed that the team of auditors paid attention to the implementation of a structural process and methodology for the planning, preparation, conduct, reporting, fellow up and evaluation of ICAO safety oversight audit. He said the Sierra Leone Aviation Authority performed exceptionally which has stimulated the drafting of the above-mentioned letter to the Sierra Leone Aviation Authority and the nation.
