The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sierra Leone has on Thursday 15 August, 2024 held its third session of ‘Face to Face with China in 2024.’ The event attracted over fifty representatives of major media groups and friendship organizations across the country.
Speaking at the occasion the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Wang Qing disclosed that the session sent a strong message to the world about China’s steadfast commitment to reform and opening up in the new era. He said that the drive is aimed at promoting the high-quality development of China’s economy and bring more new opportunities for China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries.
China is willing to take the 2024 FOCAC Summit as an opportunity to work with the Sierra Leonean side to promote more practical cooperation in all fields, and join hands to build a high-level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future. China will continue to work together to implement outcomes of President Bio’s state visit to China in February to bring more benefits to our two peoples.
Ambassador Wang and other diplomats also introduced the China’s economic development achievements, the latest progress of China-Sierra Leone relations, and the situation of Chinese-funded projects that are of concern to the Sierra Leonean people in response to their inquiries. A promotional video on China-Sierra Leone cooperation produced by the Sierra Leonean media was shown at the reception. Participants highly evaluated the significance of the plenary session and the great achievements of Chinese modernization, and expressed their full expectation for the FOCAC summit.
