The office of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party could be a target to plant arms and ammunitions by detractors of the party, said the party National Secretary General, Dr Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh.

In a rebuttal letter in connection with the refusal of having a planned meeting by Dr Abdulai Conteh and the APC Committee of Elders held at the party headquarters on Old Railway Line in Brookfields on 15th July 2021 and sent out to the media, the APC scribe stated:

“Intelligence making the rounds is that our detractors intend to plant arms and ammunitions at the party office and the hold the leadership of the Secretariat responsible. We have therefore heightened security alert in and around the office to obviate any such attempt by our many detractors. All those intending to hold meetings of the Party must get the tacit approval of the National Secretary General.

“Against the backdrop of our MP in Constituency 129 being implicated in ‘arms and ammunition’ importation in the country and the installation of a checkpoint mounted by Police and military personnel close to the entrance of the residence of our Chairman and Leader in Makeni on allegations of arms and ammunition trafficking, eternal vigilance is the price we have to pay for the security of our Party.”

Ambassador Yansaneh sent a word of apology to Dr Abdulai Conteh in connection with the blockage and refusal of having the planned meeting by Dr Conteh hold at the Party headquarters on 15th July, 2021.

He said: “We want to apologise to Dr Abdulai Conteh and to assure him that we will call on him to go ahead with his peace moves after the meeting which I intimated him must precede his own meeting.”
