The Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Sarjoh Aziz Kamara, delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony of an international training on trust, identity, and access management organized by the Sierra Leone Research and Education Network (SLREN). The event, hosted by Njala University, attracted participants across West Africa, including ICT directors, researchers, and university staff.
The training aimed to enhance secure access to network resources, promote research, technology, and innovation, and support universities in establishing interoperable services that verify user identities. Deputy Minister Kamara emphasized the importance of the training in supporting the government’s efforts to empower universities and the research community. He noted that these initiatives align with the government’s “Big Five” game-changer agenda, particularly in advancing food security, human capital development, and technology infrastructure.
