Ecobank Sierra Leone is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecobank Transitional Incorporated (ETI), a leading Pan-African Banking Group, employing over 14,800 people and operating across 33 markets across Africa. Ecobank Sierra Leone commenced operations in November 2006, providing a wide range of financial services to customers, through its head office and branches in Freetown, Makeni, Kenema and Bo. Ecobank has built a reputation for honesty and fairness, and has served generations of customers in the country.

However, a recent scandal has threatened to tarnish the good image of the bank. Allegations of fraud were brought against the bank, by various news outlets. However, a recent investigation has revealed that they are not true. In facts the bank has been victim of a smear campaign by competitors and disgruntled former employees. And these accusations have been making headlines. In response, the bank has launched a full investigation into the claims, determined to clear its name and restore its reputation.

We have a long history to our customers, and we take pride in our reputation as a trustworthy institution. As investigations continue, we are urging the public not to listen to any misleading or misrepresenting yellow journalism piece of publication” a statement from the Bank reads.
