According to the Public Notice from the Ministry of Information and Civic Education dated 7 December 2023, the Sierra Leone Police had summoned the former President of Sierra Leone for investigations in Freetown within a period of 24 hours. ‘The former President is invited to assist the Police in the ongoing criminal investigations into the November 26 failed attempted coup in Sierra Leone,’ the notice stated.
In response with the foregoing invitation, the main opposition party, All People Congress (APC) has called for a speedy, impartial and fair investigation into the incident.
The press release went further to state that the APC party is in full support of this investigation and it admonished all Sierra Leoneans to remain calm and peaceful
