I’VE RESTORE SIERRA LEONE’S STANDING  – Bio

Under my leadership of the SLPP I have restored the image and reputation of the country…, proudly announced leader and presidential candidate of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party.

President Julius Maada Bio made the pronouncement at a large gathering of SLPP members and followers few days after Government under his leadership announced that Sierra Leone had regained her membership status with a Permanent Seat at the United Nations Security in New York.

Addressing thousands of SLPP supporters last Friday 9 June 2023 in Bo, President Bio among other gains made so far, recalled that five years ago, “I have fulfilled all the promises that I made to you during the 2018 campaigns. So, I am not here to canvas you again, but to reconsolidate our people, votes and support.

“Thank you, Bo, for the warm reception and the huge turnout in Chinese numbers to listen to my message of hope. I am proud of you and I am proud to be the leader of the SLPP.”

President Bio acknowledged the supportive of the people of the southern regional municipality, especially toward his re-elections bid for a second term to continue with his good works for humanity and Sierra Leoneans across the globe, irrespective of individual ideological differences.

Responding to the affectionate reception from Bo, President Bio said, “I am home, I am home, I am home.” He told Bo residents in Mende that they are indeed blessed to regain him, as others had wanted to take him away from the people of the southern city.

He thus encouraged all including party loyalists to kindly transform their huge turnout into valid votes that would earn him and the SLPP a first ballot victory in the approaching June 24 elections.

He reiterated that his promises were all delivered in record time which deserves him sound re-elections come 24 June this year to continue with his government’s services to the nation.

President Bio said much has been done by his administration for children, women and the youth of Sierra Leone.

He also encouraged all to solidly vote him as President, all SLPP Member of Parliament, Districts and City Council candidates. Don’t be deceived by others vote SLPP and Julius Maada Bio, he entreated all.

To the multitude of opposition All People’s Congress and others, the SLPP presidential hopeful warmly welcomed political converts and prodigals saying, I will make sure that your SLPP brothers and sisters embrace you all to feel at home in the SLPP.

On his official twitter wall, President Bio posts, “As we march forward to the finish line of our SLPP campaign, I remain fired up to take our SLPP message of #hope, #unity, #peace and #prosperity to citizens across the nooks and crannies of our nation. A big thank you to the great people of Kambia District for the rousing welcome and endorsement of our SLPP People’s Manifesto 2023 on Sunday, June 11, 2023. With your support for a second mandate, we will continue our Human Capital Development programme to empower our youths in the region, focusing on creating more economic opportunities for our #youth and #women. Our FEED SALONE Initiative will have a great impact on the lives of people in the coastal communities in Kambia District. Our focus will be on increasing #agriculture productivity in the region through farming, fishing, animal husbandry and infrastructure development to promote #foodsecurity for the communities. We welcome supporters from the opposition party who have pledged their support and confidence in our administration and People’s Manifesto. Together, PAOPA, SA LONE MUST BETTEH! Early welcoming his guests to the community, Paramount Chief Lappia Boima of Kakua Chiefdom, said President Bio and the SLPP led administration have done wonderful jobs for Sierra Leoneans saying, “so we give you another five years more.”

Souls and votes winning sentiments were also made by SLPP National Officials, including Chairman Dr Alex Prince Harding, Secretary-General, Umaru Napoleon Koroma, former Vice president Dr Victor Bockarie Foh and First Lady, Madam Fatmata Bio among others.

At similar political engagement in the Western Urban, President Julius Maada Bio encouraged the people to vote for development and not colours.

At Kroobay in Freetown the president symbolically unveiled a pedestrians’ bridge recently constructed by the SLPP mayoral candidate Mohamed Gento Kamara to ease the movements of community residents in the part of the municipality.

To Kroobay, residents, of Freetown and the Western Area as a whole President Bio acknowledged Western Area endorsement of him and the SLPP ‘No Runoff campaign’ for a second mandate, noting that “Freetownians assembled in their numbers in the Western Area to endorse our “No Run-Off” campaign in the forthcoming election on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, he said on his twitter page.”

President Bio said “Freetown is the heart of the Western region with about a million inhabitants. Our “Education for Development” National Development Plan (2019-2023) has impacted the lives of Freetownians in the past five years through our Free Quality School Education programme, Urban Development projects, Road and Transport Infrastructure improvements, WASH programmes, and energy access projects.”

He furthered that. “With your endorsement and votes in the upcoming elections, we will consolidate the development gains we’ve made despite the prevailing global economic crisis and accelerate the transformation of Freetown through our People’s Manifesto 2023 which is designed with the people especially the grassroots at the centre. We will strongly focus on harnessing the demographic dividend by developing the capacity of our youth and creating meaningful employment opportunities both in the public and private sectors. Our women will rightfully have more seats at the decision-making tables with a minimum 30% quota by law. We pledge to continuously engage them as equal partners for development.”

He thanked KROOBAY, BELGIUM, PARADE GROUND, WILBERFORCE, MURRAY TOWN, ABERDEEN and LUMLEY communities for welcoming him and his entourage.

President Bio encouraged Freetownians to join the SLPP and its alliances as we “Put Sa Lone Fos,” adding that a vote for Julius Maada Bio and the SLPP in the upcoming June 24th, 2023, elections is a vote for continued development and progress in Sierra Leone.
