Popular Sierra Leonean rapper King Boss La, whose real name is Alhaji Amadu Bah, has issued a message of appreciation to President Julius Maada Bio just hours after he was relieved of his role as Peace Ambassador of Sierra Leone.

In a formal letter dated May 1 2026 and addressed to the President at State House in Freetown, Mr Bah expressed heartfelt gratitude for what he described as an incredible honour to serve in the position.

He noted that his appointment as the first Peace Ambassador of the country reflected the President’s commitment to peace unity and youth empowerment.

According to Bah the experience of serving in that capacity was both enriching and inspiring as it gave him the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to peacebuilding efforts across the nation.

He added that the role allowed him to promote values that unite Sierra Leoneans while supporting initiatives aimed at national cohesion and harmony.

The former Ambassador further acknowledged the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio stating that his vision has helped create an environment where peace can thrive.

Bah reaffirmed his commitment to continue contributing to national development and peace efforts in whatever capacity he may be called upon to serve.

In the same message he extended congratulations to his successor Abu Bakar S Turay also known as Shady Baby expressing confidence in his ability to advance the peace agenda.

He said Turay’s dedication and sense of responsibility would play a vital role in strengthening ongoing efforts to foster lasting peace across Sierra Leone.

Bah concluded by thanking the President once again for the opportunity to serve noting that the government’s commitment to peace and progress remains a beacon of hope for citizens.

His message comes amid public reactions following his removal from the role a position he held during a period marked by youth engagement and advocacy for peace.

While the circumstances surrounding the decision have not been detailed Bah’s response has been widely seen as respectful and statesmanlike reflecting his continued support for national unity and stability.

Observers say the tone of the letter signals a desire to maintain constructive engagement with authorities despite the change in his official status.

Some analysts also believe his public acknowledgment of his successor helps reinforce continuity in the peace advocacy framework established under his tenure.

Supporters of the artist have praised his calm response noting that it sets an example for young people who look up to him.

They argue that his willingness to appreciate the opportunity and encourage his successor reflects maturity and dedication to national interest above personal considerations.

The development continues to generate discussion across social and political circles in Sierra Leone
