The recently launched of the DIB Iron Ladies UK branch in London last Friday 11th September has emerged as a significant moment in Sierra Leone’s growing political conversation ahead of the 2028 elections.
The event brought together Sierra Leoneons from across the UK in a powerful display of solidarity, organisation and commitment to the vision associated with DIB for a united, inclusive and transformed Sierra Leone.
The remarkable turnout and energy witnessed at the gathering have been described by supporters as one of the largest gatherings of Sierra Leoneans in the UK and it’s an indication of the growing enthusiasm surrounding DIB both within Sierra Leone and across the diaspora.
From London to Freetown, the message from supporters is clear, the diaspora is organized, engaged and determined to play its part in shaping Sierra Leone’s future.
The establishment of the DIB Iron Ladies UK represents more than the launch of a new branch. It marks the expansion of a movement built around participation, unity, leadership and national transformation.
As Sierra Leone moves towards the 2028 polls, the London gathering has demonstrated the importance of the diaspora engagement in the country’s political landscape and places DIB’s vision and supports in the UK at the heart of the conversation.
