The new extended Terminal at Lungi International Airport, which the incompetent Bio presidency has incorrectly dubbed ‘New Airport’ has been greeted with massive sackings by the hopeless SLPP regime. In a press statement by the Sierra Leone Airports Authority dated January 19, 2023, the shocking dismissal of innocent workers at the Lungi International Airport now renamed Freetown Internal Airport was made public. Headlined ‘Termination of Employment’ it reads thus – We formally write to inform you that the SUMMA Airport Company (SL) Limited will take over the Operations and Management of the Freetown International Airport under Article 6.1 (X) of the Build-Operate-Transfer Agreement between the Company and the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

“In view of the aforementioned and in line with the transfer protocols for the smooth transition between the Sierra Leone Airport Authority and the SUMMA Airport Company SL Limited, we are pleased to inform you that your services with the Sierra Leone Airports Authority are terminated effective 20th January 2023.” The release was signed by Jack DK Massaquoi, General Manager of SUMMA Airport Company. Who owns the SUMMA Company? This is a question on the lips of Sierra Leoneans. Why should an unknown company, suddenly takes over the Sierra Leone Airport Authority for the running of the airport? Competent sources say the new company SUMMA Airport is owned by Fatima Jabbe Bio. The name SUMMA in the Gambian language Wolof means ‘Me’. Who is the ‘Me’?

The new extended Terminal cost US$270 million dollars according to the accounting from the ruling SLPP regime. President Bio did the unthinkable by cancelling a good contract signed by the last APC government of President Ernest Bai Koroma for the construction of a new Airport at Mammamah in Port Loko District at the cost of US$330 million. Instead, the Bio presidency decided to dubiously spend an astronomical US$270 million for a mere Terminal. Citizens are suffering today beyond belief thanks to Bio’s bad governance. Sierra Leoneans are dying every day from hunger and curable sickness. No food, local food is unaffordable. Workers’ monthly pay cannot even buy a bag of rice. Sierra Leone has become a Banana Republic under Bio. Citizens are angry and ready to flush out the Bio thieves. Citizens are fervently praying for Dr Samura Kamara of the APC party to win the June 24, 2023 elections and remove the Bio bondage upon the country.
