An accountant at National Revenue Authority (NRA) John Kamanda Kanu on Tuesday 11 July 2023, dragged two people to court; Samuel Thoronka and Hassan Bangura for stealing in his house.
The matter is before Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of Court No 2 Pademba Road, Freetown.
Both accused are charged on 2 counts ranging from conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law and burglary and larceny contrary to Section 25 (1) and 13 (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet on count 1, both accused Samuel Thoronka alias Jahjao and Hassan Bangura on Sunday 14 May 2023, at 109K Sammie Town, Freetown, conspired together and with other person’s unknown to commit a felony to wit burglary and larceny.
Count 2 state that both accused on the same date and place, with intent to steal broke and entered the dwelling house of NRA accountant John Kamanda Kanu and stole food and nonfood items totaling to Eight Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Leones, property of John Kamanda Kanu.
No bail granted, accused persons are not represented and Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker remanded both accused in custody until the 19 of July 2023. PC 14898 Dumbuya J.L is Prosecuting the matter.
