SLPP Insists Victory Amidst APC Threats

The Sectary General of the National Young Generations Councils of the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party, Dwight Z. K. Sheriff has on Monday 19th June, 2023 told press men and supporters that the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Dr Samura Kamara Mathew Wilson and his running mate Hon Chernor Ramadan Major Bah are ‘not man enough to cause the proponent of Saturday June 24th  2023 elections across the country.’

He made the remarks during a press conference held at the SLPP headquarters on Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.

Sheriff said the elections will carry as planned on Saturday and saw Julius Maada Bio re-elected for second a term.

He informed that supports of the main opposition APC are unprepared for the upcoming elections, hence the reason they are calling for the resignation of the ECSL chairman and commissioners.

He said the issues raised by the APC that includes voter ID cards, Supreme Court petitions will not be adhere to as the elections will go on as plan.

“We are fully prepared to resist any manner of violence act by the APC, as we have the ability to resist them,” he said.

He disclosed without hesitation and fears that ECSL boss, Mohamed Konneh will not resign, as he is ready to conduct the elections and declare President Maada Bio as winner.

He reiterated the SLPP is not afraid of any threat and therefore called on supporters and members of SLPP to turn out and vote massively for President Bio and the SLPP Party.

Leader of the National Young Generations Councils, Sierra Leone People’s party, Engineer Francis Alpha Kallon, noted that the SLPP did it in 2018 by beating the APC with their own referee, The SLPP will also beat the APC with its own referee, he assured.
