Following the end of the Sierra Leone Premier League, three giant clubs have been relegated from Sierra Leone top flight League.

The three giant teams that have been relegated from the Sierra Leone Premier League are: FC Johansen, East End Tigers and the only team from Kenema City, Kamboi Eagles.

East End Tigers ended in the 18th position, after played their 34 matches in the league, they won 8 draw 9 lost 17 games and finished the league with 33 points. Also, the other relegated team Kamboi Eagles ended in 16th position, after played their 34 matches, they won 9, draw 11 and lost 14 matches and finished with 38 points.

FC Johansen finished the league in the 17th position, they won 9 games, draw 11 and lost 14 and they also ended with 38 points just like Kamboi Eagles. The three teams have all been relegated to the First Division league.

Despite FC Johansen won 2-1 against their rivals Freetown City Council (FCFC) in their final game of the season,  the victory is not enough for them to maintain their position in the Premier League. FC Johansen got promoted in the topflight League in the 2011/2012 season, since then they have created a lot of positive impact in Sierra Leone football. However, their runs in the league is over. They have finally been relegated from the Sierra Leone Premier League after spending eleven years in the league.

Moreover, Kamboi Eagles from Kenema City were also relegated from the country’s topflight League for the first time since 1956 despite beating their bitter rivals East End Lions 2-0 in Freetown.

Also, East End Tigers were beaten 3-0 by Lamboi FC which has sealed the relegations of East End Tigers from the Sierra Leone Premier League.

In another light, the defending Champion, Bo Rangers won this year’s Sierra Leone Premier League, and they have won it for the second time in a row. They finished the season with 34 matches unbeaten, a remarkable record in the history of Sierra Leone Football.

The Elephant from the South had their crowning moment in front of their home fans following a 2-0 win against Bai Bureh Warriors early this month.

Bo Rangers went unbeaten throughout the entire campaign securing 80 points from their 34 games, they won 23, lost none of their matches in the league, and 11 draws. Rangers scored a total of 46 goals, the highest number of goals scored in this year’s Sierra Leone topflight League.
