As part of impacting society, United Bank for Africa (UBA) has organised National Essay Competition. Sallieu Sesay, Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications noted that the essence of such effort by UBA is to empower young Sierra Leoneans by using education. The essay topic for this competition is: “The Role of Technology in Shaping the Future of Education in Sierra Leone.” After thorough academic battle screening Thea Nyalo Davies 14 years old from Jonathan’s Childcare School Bo emerged as the winner.

The following are the names that qualified for the final essay competition: Shadrach Massaquoi from Sierra Leone Grammar School, Medsilakeh M. Sankoh from International School Limited Freetown, 3. Ousman Sheriff Jalloh from Sierra Leone Grammar School Freetown 4. Rugiatu E Daramy from Annie Walsh Memorial School Freetown 5. Alusine A. Sankoh from Government Secondary School Kenema, 6. Adama Siniatu Kamara from SOS Herman Gmeiner International School Freetown, 7. Thea Nyalo Davies from Jonathan’s Childcare School Bo, 8. Wilson Peter Pambu from Sierra Leone Grammar School Freetown, 9. Sherilyn A.N Kamara from Annie Wash Memorial School Freetown, 10. Ishmael A. Turay from St. Francial Secondary School Bombali, 11. Abdulai A. Sesay from Chesterton Academy of Sierra Leone Freetown, 12. Nadia Nganga Sebba from Cluny Free the Children Secondary School Kono.
